  In order to be considered for the PCRG Bob O’Connor award, the nominee must live within the City of Pittsburgh. An individual can nominate themselves or be nominated by someone else.  The person being nominated is being recognized for volunteer efforts at improving their neighborhood.  Thus, person’s who are paid to work in their community are not eligible for this award.
 
  Nominations must be received no later than April 11, 2008. Nominations can be mailed, faxed or completed on-line.
 
  Nomination submissions are kept confidential and are reviewed by the nomination committee consisting of members of the O’Connor family, PCRG members and others.

Nominations are evaluated on the following criteria:
 
  Displaying dedication to their community through volunteer efforts
  Creating a positive impact in their community and city
  Displaying leadership, enthusiasm and dependability
  Acting as a role model to others
  Building commitment and/or consensus to accomplish goals
  Displaying neighborhood commitment through board and committee positions
  Submissions will not be returned.
 
  The decision of the committee is final.  One individual will be selected to receive the award.
 
  The nominee selected for the award will be notified no later than Friday April 18, 2008 that they have been selected to receive the Bob O’Connor Award.
 
  Presentation of the Bob O’Connor Award will be held at the PCRG Annual Meeting on May 1, 2008.
 
  Recipient of the Bob O’Connor Award may be featured in Pittsburgh Magazine.
