Tune up your bike and grab your helmet! This Friday, May 1st marks the kickoff of the National Bike Challenge.
Every year, the National Bike Challenge encourages people across the country to get on their bikes and log their miles from May 1st to September 30th. The event is free and it’s a great way to inspire friendly competition among coworkers and in the greater community. You can log your miles online or use one of several free smartphone apps to track your mileage during rides.
This is the third year PCRG has participated in the Challenge, and we’re ready to beat our records from last year, but we need your help. We encourage PCRG Members, partner organizations, and any other local community development cyclists to sign up for the PCRG Bike Team (you can also sign up for your workplace). Throughout the Challenge, the PCRG Bike Team will host several scenic bike rides in member communities. And, perhaps one of the most critical reasons to join the Challenge: we need to bring the Rustbelt trophy back to Pittsburgh.
If you need assistance with joining the Challenge or signing up for the PCRG Bike Team, please contact Samuel Su (email@example.com or 412-391-6732 ext. 210) or Steve Novotny (firstname.lastname@example.org or 412-391-6732 ext. 205).
