AmeriCorps VISTA positions

PCRG VISTA Leader

Grow your leadership skills by supporting AmeriCorps VISTA Members and their host sites in creating economic opportunity for under-resourced communities in Pittsburgh, PA! 

The VISTA Leader will serve for one year at the PCRG main offices to oversee and support the 8 VISTA members stationed at community-based nonprofits around Pittsburgh. The VISTA Leader will manage recruitment, provide technical assistance to host site supervisors, and support and mentor current VISTA members. Primary responsibilities include supporting the selection of high-quality VISTAs by creating and executing communication strategies and streamlining the screening process, assisting with the orientation and ongoing training of VISTAs and their site supervisors, overseeing monthly reports, and enhancing PCRG’s VISTA project sustainability. The VISTA Leader will grow their personal leadership skills while providing on-going professional development to the active cohort, as well as coordinating team building events. 

To qualify for this position, the candidate must have served at least one full term as an AmeriCorps VISTA member.

Community Growth Fund Programs Capacity Building VISTA

Build the Community Growth Fund’s capacity to break the cycle of poverty through affordable home and car loans for low- and moderate-income Pittsburghers and financial literacy training.   

The Community Growth Fund Programs Capacity Building VISTA will spend one year conducting research and developing systems to build the capacity of CGF’s programs to meet the financial needs of underserved communities. Primary service activities will include creating a communication process for our array of lending products to potential low- and moderate-income borrowers, assisting with project development for affordable housing, and developing marketing strategy for our Ways to Work car loan program. They will also generate materials for product training classes to increase the number of borrowers. Over the course of their year of service, the VISTA will learn about Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) operation, including how to assess and respond to community capital needs.
